Taitung Tree House is THE most amazing space for meditation and yoga in Taiwan. It was built and created by my good friends Roman (Canadian) and Emily (his Taiwanese wife), the owners of the fantastic and unique Taitung Sea Art Hostel.

This yoga and meditation center is located in a somewhat remote part of Taitung County, in south Taiwan, in the mountains just behind Dulan. This community has recently become quite popular with long-term expats living on Formosa. The area is well-known for its raw tropical beauty, aboriginal culture, and its ever-evolving, vibrant artistic community of free spirited vagabonds.

The space is huge and was built for large group practices of yoga, teacher’s training program, meditation, singing bowl courses, and other spiritual therapy classes or events.

What is not included at Meditation Space & Yoga in Taiwan Taitung Tree House
This center doesn’t provide yoga classes or meditation on a regular basis. You must organize your own event, prepare your own food, and manage the day to day operation with your students or clients. The space is primarily designed for yoga teachers / instructors in mind. It’s a space where you can organize your own yoga retreat / meditation camp. Emily provides the space, you provide the activity.
As mentioned earlier, the owners are 100% opened to your needs and are willing to provide a flexible package that will accommodate various group sizes and requirements.
You can contact Emily at 0935 061 578 for further details about pricing for individual rooms as well as for the whole center.
My personal experience at Tree House in Taitung
I was lucky enough to spend two precious nights at Taitung Tree House, as I was on a road trip down the East Coast of Taiwan. I stopped to visit Roman and Emily and, in their usual selfless generosity, offered me to stay for the night at the center. I have to say that I would move there in a heartbeat! I could see myself live there full-time. The surroundings are so quiet and peaceful. The views over the mountains are unbeatable. The ocean is right in front of you… At night there is not a noise to be heard – just insects. I fell asleep to the sound of my own breath, a thing that is almost impossible in most places around ultra-urbanized, over-populated Taiwan. In the morning, I was woken up by birds signing just outside my window. I’m not a yoga teacher, I regularly do meditation, although mostly alone. If I was in need of a place to organize a yoga retreat in Taiwan, it would surely be here. I can personally highly recommend this magic place if you are in search of a large space to organize your own yoga teacher’s training program.
Taitung Tree House on Facebook
As I mentioned earlier, Taitung Tree House is a space that you can rent to organize your own event with your students or friends, but you should also know that from time to time, the center is used for yoga and meditation courses or practices that are open to the public. The best place to keep yourself updated with such occasions is obviously on Facebook. You can follow Taitung Tree House Meditation and Yoga Space in Taiwan here.
