Travel Around the Island…
Discover the Top 10 Hotels in Taiwan!

Are you looking for Taiwan hotels? Follow me! We’ll go on a tour around Taiwan through some of the most popular travel destinations. Along the way, I’ll show you some of my favorite Taiwan hotels.

We’ll start our trip in Taiwan’s capital – Taipei – then we’ll travel along the west coast all the way down south to the popular beach resort of Kenting. Along the way, we’ll stop in Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. From Kenting, we’ll head back north along the scenic east coast of Taiwan where we’ll stop in Taidong, Hualien, and Taroko Gorge to check the best places to stay.

Are you ready? Let’s go! Let’s begin our tour of Taiwan’s best hotels!

Taiwan Hotels
Taipei City, Taiwan’s Capital

grand hotel taipeiThe Grand Hotel in Taipei is located in the northern part of the city. The main reason why I love this Taipei hotel is its classical Chinese architecture. It’s one of the oldest hotels in Taiwan and you can really feel its history when you walk around the vast lobby. This majestic hotel is a true museum! The Taipei Grand Hotel also has some of the best Chinese restaurants in town. In the vicinity of the Grand Hotel in Taipei, you’ll find the solemn Confucius Temple, the bustling Shilin Nightmarket as well as Yangming Mountain.

Taiwan Hotels
Hsinchu City, Northern Taiwan

hotel hsinchuAll right, I have to admit that Hsinchu isn’t one of Taiwan’s top travel destinations. However, many people have to go there for business, because the city is home to the biggest technological park in Taiwan. If you need accommodation in Hsinchu, I highly recommend the Ambassador Hotel.

This superb 5-star accommodation is right downtown in a beautiful, modern high-rise building. The Hsinchu Ambassador Hotel is only a few minutes away from the Hsinchu Science and Technology Industrial Park. One thing I remember about this luxurious hotel, is that the views from the top floors are truly remarkable!

Taiwan Hotels
Taichung City, Central Taiwan

hotel one taichungStay at one of the coolest hotels in Taiwan.Hotel One in Taichung is located in the most vibrant area of the city. From the hotel, you can walk along the Green Belt – a nice park – to two of Taichung’s finest attractions: the Art Museum and the Science Museum of Taichung. The hotel is surrounded by bars, restaurants, and trendy little cafes. My home is right next to this hotel and I can guarantee you there’s no better place to stay in Taichung. There’s so many cool things to do in the area.

Taiwan Hotels
Tainan City, Southern Taiwan

shangri-la-tainan

Welcome to Tainan – the temple capital of Taiwan! Tainan is without a doubt my favorite Taiwanese city, and it’s also home to my favorite hotel in Taiwan: The Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel! When I stay in hotels in Taiwan, my budget doesn’t usually allow me to sleep at hotels like the Shangri-La. However, somehow, the Shangri-La Hotel in Tainan isn’t that expensive compared to other luxury Taiwanese hotels. Make sure to try the food at the Chinese restaurant on the 38th floor!

Taiwan Hotels
Kaohsiung City, Southern Taiwan

kaohsiung-hotel
When Taiwanese people debate which are the best hotels in Taiwan, there usually isn’t much argument about the following fact: Kaohsiung’s Grand Splendor Hotel is way at the top of the list of the fanciest Taiwan hotels. Right next to the lovely Love River, this architectural marvel features the second highest hotel rooms in the world. With this fact in mind, I don’t need to tell you that the views over Kaohsiung and its harbor are unparalleled!

Taiwan Hotels
Kenting, Southern Taiwan

kenting hotelWelcome to the Florida of Taiwan! After a day at the beach and a night walking along Kenting’s busy main road (which turns into a sort of night market in the evening) you’ll be more than happy to rest your sunburnt skin and achy feet at Kenting’s Caesar Park Hotel. The price is steep, but the experience is worth it! The hotel has its own private beach. This is truly one of Taiwan’s finest hotels!

Taiwan Accommodation
Taidong (Taitung) City, South-Eastern Taiwan

taidong hotelThe Traveler Hotel in Taidong is conveniently located in the city center. The rooms are warm and comfortable, although they’re starting to show their age. The hotel staff can help you book tickets to nearby Green and Orchid Islands.

Accommodation in Taiwan
Hualien City, Eastern Taiwan

ola hotel hualien

The Ola Hotel in Hualien is one of a handful of accommodations in the city that has decent views over the Pacific Ocean. The Ola Hotel is not too far from downtown Hualien, and it’s right next to the Nanbin Nightmarket. The rooms are cozy and clean. Hotel staff speaks basic English.

Hotel in Taiwan
Taroko Gorge, Eastern Taiwan

taroko-gorge hotelSpectacular Taroko Gorge is a prime hiking destination in Taiwan. And you couldn’t possibly find a better place to spend a night than the Grand Formosa Taroko Hotel.Nestled in the depth of the gorge, this first-class hotel has a lot to offer to impress its guests. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and have marble bathrooms. The hotel has two fine restaurants, a lounge, a cafe, and a gift shop where you can buy Taroko souvenirs. Like most big Taiwan hotels outside major Taiwanese cities, the Grand Formosa Hotel has shuttle buses that can take you to and from the airport or train station.

Taiwan Lodging
Taoyuan City, Northern Taiwan

hotel taoyuan airportThe Taoyuan Holiday Inn Express Hotel is a nice option to consider if you want to spend the night next to Taiwan’s main international airport, in Taoyuan City, 40 minutes away from Taipei. The Holiday Inn Hotel has sleek, comfortable, high-quality rooms. It is my favorite “airport hotel” in Taiwan.
