If mountains and sea make you happy, if hiking and swimming are your thing, then Highway 11 should be at the very top of your Taiwan list!
The East Coast of Taiwan means different things to various people. For most Taiwanese, it's just a wild, far away place that gets pounded by the sun and typhoons in summer. For some, it's a destination that is best described as "inconvenient" due its lack of fast transport like the high-speed train (HSR), big cities with malls, and in some places, access to 4G internet.
For me, the East Coast, especially the Highway 11 section between Hualien and Taitung City, means nature, adventure, clean air, freedom, cool people, and a slower pace of life.

Traveling from Kaohsiung to Kenting couldn't be easier! You can take a shuttle bus right at the HSR station in Zuoying and you'll be in Kenting 2 hours later.
