Job Hunting in Taiwan 101

Rule #1: Stay away from the big websites that advertise English teaching jobs like Tealit.

Why? There are three main reasons. Look at this picture. It shows what the ratio school / teacher looks like on websites like Tealit:

1- There are very few schools (I know... the schools look like churches!)
2- There are tons of teachers.

I wish I had found your directory of schools in Taiwan earlier. I've been wasting my time searching for a job for the past month. I spent so much money on trains and buses... Taipei, Taoyuan, Ilan, Hsinchu. The problem was that I didn't have a list of schools that were all in the same area. So I just went to whatever schools were listed on Tealit. BIG MISTAKE! Tealit = Too much competition!
